Giorgio Rivetti ist beyond doubt one of the most successful wine growers in Italy. At the same time he is heading the group of the so called "renovators" in Piedmont. In 2002 he was awarded the title of the best producer of the year. His first big red wine has been the exceedingly successful Pin, that received in 1990 at first go "three glases", the highest score from the Gambero Rosso. Rivetti's next project was the Barbaresco. Three different Cru-locations generated three extraordinary wines: the Gallina, the Starderi and the Valeriano. The Barolo Vursu Campé, a wine of exceptional density, is produced in the newly built wines cellars Grinzane Cavour. The wines of the wine growing estate La Spinetta, until now, have been awarded 27 times the sought-after "three glasses" of the Gambero Rosso. For the wine tasting the three Barbaresco wines will be served with the starter, the pasta-dish and the main course, all together prepared with Fassona Piemontese. The Barolo will complete the menu together with a selection of typical cheese specialities from Piedmont. Giorgio Rivetti will present his famous wines in person.

Canale, located in the heart of the Roero region, still is an insider tip for outstanding vines. Especially the vines of the best wine cellars in town, Matteo Corregia, are of extraordinary quality. The vine has been vinificated under the direction of Giorgio Rivetti (La Spinetta). Produced are the typical vines of the region like Arneis, Nebbiolo and Barbara. Ornella Costa-Corregia, who is leading the estate today, will present the wines in person.
